Courage Martial Arts

Courage Martial Arts is a holistic martial arts school in Guelph, Ontario.
Founded in 2019 with a vision to be a positive, inclusive community focused on personal growth through martial arts training.

Our values are based on three founding pillars:

FAMILY

At Courage Martial Arts, we are a family. We look out for each other both in and out of class. Instructors and students encourage each other to be their best.  By supporting each other we ensure everyone feels at home in the dojo.

LEADERSHIP

Everyone is a leader at Courage Martial Arts both inside and outside the dojo.  Instructors model best leadership practices during classes actively demonstrating for students.  All black belts complete leadership training, where they learn about themselves and how they lead.

CONFIDENCE

With differing abilities and reasons to study martial arts, our goal is to ensure all students experience continual incremental growth building confidence over time.  Our focus is on each individual and their needs.  At Courage Martial Arts our goal is for students of every ability to be successful.

Self confidence can be tough for kids and adults. That’s why training with a great group can help you achieve anything!

My 8-year-old son loves Courage Martial Arts! He’s not only learning valuable martial arts skills but also building confidence, respect, and discipline. The instructors are fantastic, and the supportive environment keeps him excited to attend every class. Highly recommended!

Such a wonderful place for my daughter to do Karate. She loves it and has so much fun! Staff are incredible, they make you feel like you’re family. Highly recommend!

I was nervous to attend karate for the first time as an adult, but I’ve had an incredible experience at Courage Martial Arts. Dan, Zach, Angel, and the rest of the team do a fantastic job of fostering a supportive environment, and the classes themselves are a combination of challenging and accessible. I really enjoy the combination of traditional karate and modern self-defence, which helps me feel safer in my day-to-day life. I highly recommend Courage Martial Arts to anyone looking for martial arts training, whether they are experienced, or new to the field!

Guelph is lucky to have Courage Martial Arts. This dojo promotes the importance of family , leadership and confidence and instills this philosophy in all its members. The schedule is flexible and the sensei’s are amazing. Sensei Dan is a community leader that has created a professional, fun and engaging business model. I would highly recommend Courage Martial Arts!!!

My son expressed an interest in karate so we thought we would try a few studios to see which would be the best fit for him. This one was the first one we tried and had to look no further. It was just perfect and we enrolled that very day! Sensei Dan and the wonderful instructors create an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and fun for all levels. Since my son started in September I have seen a huge difference in his confidence, motivation, and coordination. My daughter saw how much fun he was having and has just started this past week and wants to go every day! Thank you for making such a positive impact on our family.
